What We Do

Who are we?
How do we help?

Working with the County Veterans Service Office (CVSO), Apple Valley Beyond the Yellow Ribbon provides assistance to individuals in both the active and veteran community.

All requests are vetted to ensure we are appropriately providing services to those in need and in a timely matter.

Below are examples of how we've helped members of our community

Examples of our Work

Service Referrals

Service Referrals

Many veterans and active service members are not aware of programs available to them; therefore, our volunteers help direct them to assistance they may need such as:

  • housing
  • support groups
  • food assistance
  • job/training resources
Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance

We've provided financial assistance to those in emergency situations, or to those who simply need a temporary 'leg-up'. For example:

  • gas gift cards
  • food gift cards
  • moving expenses
  • rent payments
  • car repairs or car loans
Community Events

Community Events

Military Appreciation Dinners not only provide meals for our local veterans, they also:

  • strengthen our community by connecting veterans
  • present speakers who discuss veteran needs and services
  • honor members in the community
  • provide entertainment/music
  • update attendees on upcoming activities and accomplishments
Home Care

Home Care

We have assisted many of our elderly or disabled veterans with a variety of home services. For example:

  • home care - painting, handy-man tasks
  • yard care, such as mowing lawns, raking leaves, etc.
  • snow removal
