Two recent bills have taken effect. Congress passed the Sen. Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act, introducing extensive changes to how the VA delivers health care and benefits.
The bill includes provisions for pay flexibility for health care workers and aims to modernize the VA's services. The PACT Act was expanded, in January 2025, recognizing several serious blood and bone marrow cancers as presumptive conditions for Veterans exposed to toxins during service in the Middle East and Central Asia. This change simplifies the claims process for affected Veterans.
